Education establishments routinely feature large numbers of trees. These are important for the general landscaping of the site, but can also form part of the educational resource, such as in a Forest School context.
While most state schools in Devon will have their trees inspected by Devon County Council contractors, independent schools, academies, colleges and universities will need to establish their own tree management programmes.

For example, a tree adjacent to a road and site entrance may have a lower risk tolerance than one located within a boundary woodland strip or forest school area.
